Conference course: Career workshop for anthropology majors

ANTH 4191.002  Career Workshop for Anthropology Majors.  Conference Course.  1 hour.  Every Friday, 12:00 to 12:50. UH 418

This workshop is designed to prepare Anthropology majors for the job market or graduate school.  During the workshop you will develop a resume and a professional website, prepare for a job interview, practice professional communication skills, identify resources for finding jobs, learn how to evaluate graduate schools, and prepare a personal statement.  Opportunities in all sub-disciplines will be discussed during guest presentations by members of the Anthropology faculty.  

Conference course, 1 credit hour, class size limited to 12 students. 

Prerequisite: permission of the instructor; please email me your request to enroll, student ID number, what you hope to get out of the workshop, and whether or not you are a Junior or Senior.  The workshop is limited to Anthropology majors with Junior or Senior standing.  Those with a minor in Anthropology or plans for graduate school in Anthropology may also be considered.

I have interviewed hundreds of people applying for jobs. I have attended two graduate schools.
