DEPARTMENT OF ANTHROPOLOGY ANTI-RACISM STATEMENT. Please click here to read our statement.
ATTENDANCE, LATE ARRIVALS/EARLY DEPARTURES: Course attendance at Colorado College is expected during all regularly scheduled block course days which can include holidays (click here for college-wide policies). If you must miss the beginning or any part of a block, you are responsible for informing me and for making up any course work missed.
Students observing religious holidays may miss class but must make arrangements with me in advance regarding course work. As you make vacation and travel plans, please remember that missing class will negatively impact your course grade.
Excessive absence (three or more class meetings), excused or unexcused, will result in dismissal from the course with “No Credit.” Arriving late and departing early is usually considered an absence for the attendance record.
You are expected to notify the instructor in writing of any missed classes, in advance if possible. Missing class days for any reason will negatively impact your Effort and Engagement assessment unless you propose and complete additional learning activities to compensate for the diminished learning resulting from your class absence.
Excused absences include:
Please see the course syllabus/schedule for when classes will take place beyond our regular meeting time of ~ 9:00 to 12:00 pm. Plan your personal/work schedule so you do not miss the afternoon sessions.
