How to find the climate station nearest your project and create a climate graph
1. Go to the Western Regional Climate Center, Historical Climate Information (select all links: blue text and underlined)
2. Select "Western U.S. Historical Summaries (individual stations) from the "Climate and Weather Information" bullet point list
3. At the bottom of the page, select the state where the project is located (e.g., Colorado)
4. Find and select with you mouse (by hovering over the red location box) the climate station nearest your project area and with the most similar topographic location. For example if the nearest station is on the opposite side of a mountain range or at a substantially different elevation, it will likely experience different weather patterns and not represent weather patterns at your project area. Use Google Earth or Maps to identify the nearest station and evaluate topographical similarities.
