final field report

At the conclusion of all archaeological work, the knowledge and information created must be submitted to the sponsoring organization and other repositories, including the Colorado Office of Archaeology and Historic Preservation.

The report should have the sections described in the Colorado Cultural Resource Survey Manual beginning on page pp. 57-60 and follow all directions provided in the Manual.

The report is accurate, clearly written, and understandable by an audience with a general archaeological background.  Significant progress was made answering the research questions.  The report is pleasing to read and the results are compelling, interesting, and justify the time and effort of an archaeological investigation. 

16 points:  The final report, including required forms, meets all expectations.  The specified format was precisely followed and complete. The report is accurate, clearly written, and understandable by an audience with a general archaeological background.  Significant progress was made answering the research questions. The report is readable and the results are clearly stated. 

14 points:  The final report, including required forms, meets minimal expectations.  The specified format is mostly followed. The document is unevenly written and some sections are not understandable by an audience with a general archaeological background. Some progress was made answering the research questions. The results are understandable but lack sufficient detail to be fully understood. 

< 14 points:  The final report, including required forms, does not meet minimal expectations. The specified format was not closely followed.  The document is uneven in clarity and some parts will be confusing to an audience with a general archaeological background. Some progress was made answering the research but the data obtained was not fully utilized. The results are difficult to understand and call into question the purpose of the research.
